It’s a peek behind the makeshift tent curtain. Former NYC public defender and Survivor alum Eliza Orlins is here to discuss all the headlines, including her own.
Maybe you first met Eliza Orlins when she competed on Survivor (TWICE) or when she ran for Manhattan District Attorney, or maybe you know her from her excellent legal commentary drawn from her years of experience as a public defender. However you know her, she’s here now, and we’re thrilled to talk headlines, including her own!

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton testified yesterday in a closed-door deposition before the House Oversight Committee regarding her knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein. Her mantra was pretty much idk ask my husband, which they will do today (Friday, February 27th). While Hillary Clinton did have some type of acquaintance with Ghislane Maxwell, Republicans spent a significant amount of time questioning her on UFOs and Pizzagate (a long-debunked conspiracy theory).
SMILE, you’re in a photo that breaks the rules of this testimony! Representative Lauren Boebert snapped a photo of Hillary Clinton during testimony that she quickly sent to right wing commentator Benny Johnson. Meredith thinks Boebert is an idiot, Eliza thinks she’s a strategic game player, and as a Survivor alum, she’s probably right.
Netflix said, no we are no longer watching, as they have apparently dropped their bid for Warner Brothers leaving Paramount/Skydance as the likely new owner. Paramount, in addition to owning CBS, is owned by David Ellison, a long time ally of Trump. The suspected purchase has raised concerns around media companies having too much power in too many places. This merger would put CNN, which is currently owned by Warner Brothers, under Paramount.
And in the shock the century CBS is continuing to do terrible things bts that are coming to light thanks to voices like our guest cohost, Eliza. In a video released on her page earlier this week Eliza shared her experience of receiving antisemitic harassment and attacks from a fellow Survivor alum, Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick.
There is perhaps no one more versed on the Epstein Files than journalist Tara Palmeri.
Tara Palmeri has been a crucial element to ensuring the reality of Epstein’s crimes continue to be shared with the American public. She joins us today to break down the latest as we enter day 2 of Clinton testimony.
Tara reminds us that there are still millions of pages in the Epstein files that have yet to be released, and how many things continue to be redacted. The money exchange of Leon Black and Jeffrey Epstein continues to be an unanswered question.
We ask Tara what question she would have asked Hillary Clinton had she been on the committee yesterday. And to be fair none of the ladies are buying that she didn’t know more about Ghislaine being at Chelsea Clinton’s wedding.
We also bring up the age old question, who even was Jeffrey Epstein? From a modest (perhaps NORMAL!?!) childhood, to college drop out, to math teacher at a prestigious Manhattan prep school, to confidant of the wealthiest men in the world. There is just so much we still don’t know.
